Hello friends, welcome to another issue of Desire Path — a newsletter for photographers and photography aficionados interested in NFTs and web3.
Two Crossed Paths
In “Daimon”, Alina Trifan finds personifications of forces of nature in the mundane. “Liminal Space” by Georgina Hooper is a collection of rice paper paintings that explore the threshold between the visible and invisible world, attempting to push the boundaries of the veil of the metaphysical realm.
Three Photo Projects
“Knit Club” by Carolyn Drake is the culmination of years of collaboration between the photographer and a group of women she met in Water Valley, Mississippi. In presenting a subversive perspective on motherhood and southern femininity, Drake leans toward the surreal and mysterious. Concealed faces and bodies retain a sense of interiority for a subject that has historically been exposed by the male gaze.
“Shredders” by Zak Krevitt — generative art meets photography in a project that embraces mutability, rejects restriction, and shreds the binary.
“Place of happy people” by Evgeniy Zaets. A series of carefree photos taken in Ukraine.
Four Art Projects
“Memory of Nymphaeas” by Sarah Ridgley is a generative interpretation of monotype printing and indexical mark making. First, the program generates a painting of blooms scattered across a pool of water to a background canvas. Then, random pixels are lifted from that image and pressed onto the screen.
“Everything I Own” by the artist known as stardrop. The title says it all — it’s a collection of 1026 photos of things she owns. An exploration of ownership, consumerism, and privacy in the world of crypto.
The “FUCK YOU” collection by Molly Dickson (of Computer Cowgirls) is a response to the May 2, 2022 Supreme Court draft leak, revealing the intended overturn of Roe v Wade. In the days and weeks following, Molly created resistance art - with hopes of raising 3 million for organizations that provide abortion access across the country.
“Fragile Flora” by Jack Prittee. Delicate, vibrant florals that symbolize the diverse individuals that are often overlooked.

“No longer does museum validation or scholarly attention determine a painting’s value. Now, the collectors’ hunger comes first, and institutions must follow.”
